Johann Sebastian Bork was a comedic act created by Verne Langdon, meant to be a parody of the Baroque composer Johann Sebastian Bach. Known to play contemporary jazz on a honky-tonk piano while sporting a Bavarian accent, he wore elaborate special effects makeup and a wig while performing.

Uh-oh. Looks like its happened again. We owe you another apology. We're sorry, but we stepped in more forgotten Bork (not that anybody even remembers the gotten Bork!) What you have here is from Bork's "island period," when he was living on an island. Period. Little is known, and even less can be told, but it seems at some point Bork just wandered off to an island in the middle of the ocean . What he did there all day and most of the night shall no doubt remain a mystery, but once you hear this weird collection of "exotic" and cheesy stuff, you will agree that moss doesn't grow evenly.
On this album you have everything from exotica to fingerprints. Keep in mind that we're as mystified as you are, but we got a warehouse full of these things to get rid of, and we're hoping our distributor comes through or we're S.O.L.
P.S. Bork's affection for our feathered friends is quite apparent on this recording. This album is Bork's swan song. After he recorded it, he ate the swan.

Korla Pandit began as Juan Rolando, known for playing both the organ and the grand piano at the same time (the piano with his right hand and the organ with his left) and was first billed as "Juan Rolando, the One Man Combo!" Rolando eventually became Korla Pandit, a musician and a mesmerist, famous for his lips, his eyes, his turban with the smokey topaz jewel and hypnotic dangling diamond, and his beautifully-inspirational music. In all his years on radio and television, he never spoke a word, gazing dreamily instead into the camera and into the hearts and imaginations of millions upon millions of viewers over the years.

The Land of a Thousand Faces was performed as part of the Universal Studios Tour from August 1975 to 1979. Verne created the show with Universal Tour's Jay Stein and Terry Winnick. The show was performed 8 times per day to fifteen hundred spectators at each show.
As each famed character and it's artist-creator were mentioned, the faces morphed one into the other. The pre recorder voice of "The Spirit" was performed by legendary character actor John Carradine, speaking lines written by Verne Langdon, to likewise pre-recorded theatre organ accompaniment composed and performed by Verne.

Pipe Dreams is a loving tribute to the grand theatre organs of an earlier time.
